Easy Bacon And Brie Linguini With a Basil Garnish

Are you trying to impress your guests? Need a perfect Friday night dinner idea? This sizzling recipe combines the rich flavors of bacon and the creamy texture of brie to make a dreamy dish that is sure to leave your company craving for seconds!

The great part about this dish is that not only are most of the ingredients basic household essentials, but it only requires one skillet for cooking. If you don’t already have a cast-iron skillet, we highly recommend investing in one. They’re great for cooking, are extremely durable, and just like this recipe, are great for reducing clean up.

As always, we definitely recommend the 16oz Président brie wheel (or the 19 oz if you’re feeling bold). Together with a box of Barilla Linguini, this recipe is definitely a top pick for us.

Equipment

  • Stove

Ingredients

  • 1 package Bacon
  • 1 lb Linguini Pasta
  • 1/2 cup Reserved Pasta Water
  • 3 tbsp Garlic
  • 1 Yellow Onion Chopped
  • 15 oz Brie Cheese Cubed and rind removed
  • 10-15 Basil Leaves Chopped
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Using a large skillet, cook bacon strips over low heat, flipping occassionally until brown and crispy.
  • While bacon is cooking, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until Al Dente (about 10-15 minutes). Make sure you reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and set aside for later.
  • Transfer bacon to paper-towel lined plate, being sure to cover and pat to remove excess grease. Once cooled, slice into crumbled pieces.
  • Using the same skillet with leftover bacon grease, add garlic and chopped onions. Sauté over low heat until onions carmelize to a rich brown color.
  • Using a serrated knife, remove the rind from the brie and cut remaining inside into cube-sized pieces.
  • Add the brie and reserved pasta water to skillet and stir continuously until thick and creamy.
  • Stir in bacon and transfer to pasta bowls, garnishing with the chopped basil, salt and pepper.
  • Bon appétit!
