Easy Honey Drizzled Brie Topped with a Rosy Fruit Bouquet
With the craze of holiday dinner preparations, there remains a very important feature one simply cannot forget: dessert. Although it comes last in between food comas, it would not be a complete meal without a variety of sweets. Enter a decadently rich, honey drizzled, fruit topped brie masterpiece.
I actually came up with this recipe after making one of the Charcu-turkey boards for Thanksgiving. With plenty of leftover fruit, I decided to put pen to paper and construct a new recipe with what I had in the kitchen. Particularly, the raspberries and pomegranate seeds stood out the most. Because they both acquire such strong bursts of flavor, combining them together set the groundwork for the recipe. Add apples and figs into the mix and it painted an exuberant picture of deep colors to illuminate the brie.
Now, what truly (and literally) glues this entire dessert together is the honey. Not only did I use it to drizzle over the brie while baking, but it was also a component within the fruit preparation. A few tablespoons added to the chopped mixture before refrigerating allowed for all the flavors to blend before baking.
As for the brie of choice for this dessert, the French “La Bonne Vie” brie won the prize again. A nice little perk about this brie is that it comes wrapped in a gold foil paper, which can a perfect decoration addition to your platter when it comes time to be served. Reci-Brie Tips
Now, there were a few tips to note before trying out this recipe. First, please handle your figs with care. I noticed that due to their softness, they can get bruised and browned very easily. Due to this, carefully place them into the strainer when washing and while chopping them up. Second, when prepping the fruit topping, make sure you let the mixture marinate covered in the fridge for at least 20 minutes. Just like a fruit salad, it will allow for the fruits and honey to blend prior to serving. Lastly, as the cheese will be very gooey in the center, carefully transfer your honey drizzled brie to a serving dish using a thick spatula. Serve immediately and enjoy!
