1. Bake A Bloody Mummy Brie

Yummy Mummy Brie Appetizer

If you’re looking to mummify your party without wasting all that toilet paper, this Yummy Mummy Brie Appetizer is a great one to try out! This gooey and flaky treat has all that your taste buds need. With the rich flavors of the brie and chocolate combined with a hint of strawberry sweetness, this recipe will bring life to your party table.

The best part about this recipe is that it is friendly to those lactose intolerant witches and warlocks out there. We used Enjoy Life non-dairy chocolate chips as well to complement the dish. Being the one brie in the pod that can eat dairy, I can vouch that the non-dairy chocolate chips taste no different than regular chocolate chips. Unlike some dairy alternatives, they melted when baked and served as a great additional sweetness.

However you decide to make it, send us a picture! We’d love to check out your spooky Mummy masterpiece. Keep reading for some more Halloween appetizers.

Spark up your imagination charcuterie board! Unlike normal charcuterie boards, Char-Spook-erie boards transform the usual meats and cheeses into an eerie-yet-edible display. The best thing about this platter is you can put yours together any way you choose. Want to use some of our ideas? Check out a few of our creations:

Graveyard Charcuterie:

  • Brie Coffin – Using any sized brie wheel you choose, cut it into a coffin shape. You can use the remaining pieces as pre-cut slices to place around you board.
  • Cheese Gravestones – using any cheese of your choosing, align slices to make it look like rows of gravestones. To make it look even more real, I used food coloring to write names on some of them.
  • Meat Ghosts – These ghostly characters were a fun addition I added to my board. Putting an olive and a cheese cube on each end of a toothpick, I then draped prosciutto over it and added faces using the food coloring.
  • Cheese Well – You can make an easy well by building a stacked cheese cube circle and filling it with olives.

Skeleton Charcuterie:

  • Tangerine Pumpkins – Create cute little pumpkins using peeling tangerines! We put thin pretzels in the center of ours but you can use anything to recreate a stem. We’ve seen anything from celery slices to recycled fruit stems.
  • Cookie Cutting your Cheese – have some festive cookie cutters lying around? Use them to slice up your cheese! If you have large cutters like we did, use them to slice your large blocks. Small cookie cutters can be used for individual slices as well. Have fun with it! The more detail, the better it’ll look!
  • Dollar Decor – Fill in bare spots with fun finds at your local dollar store like we did. We were able to find a florescent skeleton, bats, and some funky decor to garnish our board with.

The list of possibilities with this board can go on and on as you can see. You can even cut out crosses if you want to take it one step further.

In a bind for time and need an even easier idea?

Take festive cookie cutters to your brie and other cheese blocks. A brie wheel is good for this as it gives enough space to fit the cookie cutter mold. You can even use an autumn spread such as fig, apricot, or apple butter on the side if you want to spice it up a bit more! This is one of the most popular Halloween appetizers to make because of the creative liberties you can take. There is also something on the board for meat and cheese lovers alike to enjoy.

3. Serve a Festive Fruity Brie

Caramel Apple Drizzled Brie

Who says you have can’t have dessert before dinner? As we’ve made both a blackberry brie as well as a caramel apple brie, both of these recipes can give you the outdoor fall freshness of fruits that you need.

On one end, the Blackberry Infused Baked Brie will add some color to your décor. The dark blackberries and sweet sauce transform the brie into a witches cauldron type dessert. Want to make the dish even more wicked? Serve it on a black plate or in a small black skillet instead to really send home the witches brew look. The best part about this recipe was that it was an easy appetizer to whip up. Both times I tried it out, I was on a time crunch and had most of the ingredients already.

On the other end, the Caramel Apple Baked Brie will perfectly close out apple and caramel month sending sweet aromas throughout the house. This dish is a great fall recipe adding a touch more texture than the blackberry brie. The thick caramel sauce combined with the softened apples gives it just the right apple pie kick to set your taste buds into a frenzy. Just add that baked brie and voila! A well rounded combo of sweet and savory goodness awaits.

So really, either recipe you choose would be a great addition to serve to your guests. Want to add a little more spice to your palette? Instead of using normal crackers, try out Stacey’s Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips for an extra kick.

4. Pretzel Rod Fingers

Pretzel Rod Fingers

These witchy fingers are a cute and easy snack to serve. In just 4 easy steps and 3 ingredients, you too can craft your own edible fingers! All you have to do is melt white chocolate, add green food coloring, dip the pretzel rods halfway into the chocolate, add a pumpkin seed to the top, and make ridges for the joints. A few simple tricks we did were to use parchment paper, a cutting board for a no-edge surface, and a free shelf in your fridge.

5. Stuffed Ghosty Peppers

These easy ghosty stuffed peppers are a simply way to bring some spirit to your sweet peppers. We used candy eyes that we had in our pantry but you can opt for olive slices if you’d like. The best thing about these bite-sized snacks is they don’t need to be baked. Just prep and plate and you’re ready to party!

6. Mummy Dogs

Wrap up those doggies the Halloween way! These Mummy Dogs are a great way to fill up your friends this holiday. Simply grab a package of hot dogs and some Pillsbury Crescent Dough and check out the steps below:

  1. Open your tube of crescent dough and roll out with a rolling pin. To prevent sticking, feel free to sprinkle a little flour on the surface you’re using.
  2. Cut dough into 4 rectangles or enough room to blanket one hot dog. Placing a hot dog in the center, cut slits into the sides and alternate wrapping each one around the hot dog.
  3. Finish with two tiny olive slices for eyes and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until the dough is brown and crispy.

As you can see, there are endless options to treat your guests right this Halloween! Because who said you can’t have fun with your food?

If you’re looking for a cocktail to complete the night, check out our Autumn Sangria as well. Not only does it perfectly complement the Halloween theme, but it is a great and easy drink to throw together and enjoy with friends!
