Laurita Winery: A New Jersey Checklist Essential

When you envision a winery, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it a backdrop of infinite vineyard meadows? Wine embellished walls? How about unique brie options to snack on? That last one might just be our vision. Whatever it may be, The Laurita Winery might as well be that portrait.

Laurita Winery Location

As are most farms in New Jersey, the Laurita Winery is a bit off the beaten path. Located in the Southern lands of the State, the winery has ample space for parking as well as shuttle services if needed. But if you’re up for some extra steps, the winery is a short walk from the parking lot. Although there is an indoor area, the action mainly takes place in the vast grasslands during the warmer months. A perfect setting to sit back and enjoy a glass or two of wine, the large property is an ideal event hot spot.

The Laurita Experience

As this was not our first rodeo to the winery, we’ve compiled a list to make for the best Laurita experience. To make the most of your Winery journey, check out our recommendations below!

Must Bring List

  • Picnic Blanket/lawn chairs
  • Wine box or bag
  • Shoes suitable for hills and gravel, and wood chips
  • Card over cash for purchases (especially if food trucks are present)
  • Food not allowed but children are

Within the handful of times we visited the winery, we have noted a few pertinent items to include. First, as the winery has vast grassland suitable for sitting, we recommend bringing a large picnic blanket or lawn chairs to set up camp. As most times we’ve been in attendance the winery was a bit crowded, it’s a safe call to bring your own seating to sit back and relax with.

It is recommended to bring footwear suitable for outdoor terrain as the vineyard is a bit hilly and there are wood chips in the fire pit area. Sneakers and booties are your best friends for this location.

Lastly, the winery provides you with complimentary wine glasses (or thermoses for those under 21). It is helpful to have some type of storage in the car so they do not get broken in transit home. We have brought wine boxes in the past to toss ours into.

Winery Preferences

Laurita Sangria: Professionally mason jar bottled, Laurita’s seasonal homemade Sangria is a refreshing burst of sweetness. Their famous red blend is notoriously addicting to sip on in the vineyard making is a top 5 choice for us. The mason jars are an additional bonus for at home use to make your own! It is also great for leftovers to bring home being that it has a lid.

Heavenly Blue: A dessert-like wine exuding all that is blueberry. This wine is sold in a thinner neck bottle than the others, boasting as the perfect post-meal treat. Best drank in small quantities due to the sweetness of the wine.

Barcelona Red: A light velvet aroma and a deep peppery aftertaste, this red is a unique classic you’ll catch us sipping on. Quite like its Spanish style, this red wine is far from bitter and very subtle in its nodes of blackberry.

Chardonnay Naked: Differing from their Reserve Chardonnay, the Naked White counterpart carries a more pronounced sweetness. Obtaining less of a wood flavor to it, this wine is a bit lighter with a more intense fruity aftertaste.

From food truck festivals and concerts to painting and décor classes, there always seems to be something to do at the vineyard.
